Located in North Carolina’s Piedmont Region, Greensboro is centrally located to many attractions. It is home to Piedmont Triad International Airport, an Amtrak Train Station, and is only 35 minutes from Winston-Salem and 25 minutes from High Point, NC. Getting here has never been easier!

The Greensboro Coliseum is the venue for UNC Greensboro’s basketball games, the NBA G League’s Greensboro Swarm, as well as some of the city’s most significant events.

Seeing the Backstreet Boys in concert many years ago remains one of my fondest Greensboro memories. Greensboro is often frequented by popular artists, such as Miley Cyrus, George Straight, Eric Church, and Jimmy Buffett.

Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts

CAROLINA THEATER

The Carolina Theatre originally opened in 1927 as a vaudeville theater. Regarded for decades as the finest theater between Washington D.C. and Atlanta, it attracted numerous prestigious guests.

The theater has retained its beauty through a series of restorations. Today, you can enjoy live musical performances, plays, stand-up comedians, and more at the Carolina Theater. Additionally, the Carolina Theatre serves as the home for the Greensboro Ballet.

STEVEN TANGER CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS

The Tanger Center opened in 2021, hosting some of the most captivating performances across various genres. It has quickly become a place to showcase premier performance. With a 3,000-seat auditorium, the Tanger Center offers an intimate alternative to larger venues like the Coliseum.

The Greensboro History Museum is located just 0.1 miles away from the Children’s Museum! Located in a former church, the Greensboro History Museum is a great place to learn about the history of Guildford County through engaging stories and interactive exhibits.

The Greensboro Cultural Center is an important place for the arts and cultural activities in the community. This multi-purpose facility houses various arts organizations, studios, galleries, and performance spaces.

The center plays an important role in supporting local artists. It provides a space for exhibitions, workshops, and local events.

GUILFORD COURTHOUSE NATIONAL MILITARY PARK

You can access Guilford Courthouse National Military Park by taking the Atlantic and Yadkin Greenway or by driving straight to this historic site.

Whether you choose to walk, ride, or drive through the park, you’ll be transported back to the Revolutionary War, specifically the largest battle of the Southern Campaign.

Throughout the park, several monuments honor the participants of this battle. Don’t miss the Nathaniel Greene Monument, a notable spot to pause and appreciate one of our nation’s heroes. As it’s a Military Park, picnics are discouraged, and there are no picnic shelters available.

INTERNATIONAL CIVIL RIGHTS CENTER & MUSEUM

Greensboro preserves the historic Woolworth Sit-in site, now transformed into the International Civil Rights Center & Museum.

Inside, you can explore and gain insights into the events leading up to, during, and following the courageous actions of the Greensboro Four. Next to February 1 Plaza, you can also see a beautiful sculpture that pays tribute to their legacy.

BLANDWOOD MUSEUM

The Greensboro Science Center is a great interactive experience for kids! By integrating an aquarium, museum, and zoo, it offers an engaging space to learn.

For over six decades, this center has been a hub of education, allowing individuals of all ages to explore and play.

Popular exhibits include Skywild, an extensive treetop adventure park featuring 60 animal-inspired ropes courses and challenges, the Rotary Club of Greensboro Carousel, a historic carousel boasting 56 handmade figures and animals for rides, laser shows, and a variety of other attractions.

Plan to spend about two hours in order to navigate the entire museum, while also enjoying the available hands-on activities.

ROCKIN’ JUMP GREENSBORO

Trampoline parks are a great place to take the kids on those rainy days!

As Greensboro’s top trampoline park and arcade, Rockin’ Jump has more than 30,000 square feet of trampolines and trampoline walls, featuring exciting attractions such as a ninja course, foam pit area, dodgeball arena, zip lines, and various other activities.

CELEBRATION STATION

Children will love a visit to the Miriam P. Brenner Children’s Museum, formerly known as the Greensboro Children’s Museum. With over 20 interactive exhibits and a fantastic outdoor play area, it’s a great place for kids to be kids.

If you don’t mind a short car ride to High Point, NC, you should check out the Nido & Mariana Qubein Children’s Museum. It’s named after the president of High Point University and makes you feel like you’re at Disney World (in my opinion)!

Safari Nation is a children’s play center that was designed as a dedicated space for children to engage in play, run around, and simply be kids.

CROOKED TAIL CAT CAFE

Connected to the Atlantic & Yadkin Greenway is the Piedmont Trail, a 5.7-mile hiking trail that borders Lake Brandt. This trail can be completed in under two hours.
